It is that time of the year for families to get their family photos done and put on holiday cards to send out to family and friends. I have been quite busy with family shoots, and have plenty to share with everyone. Make sure you stick close to the blog these coming weeks for more families and cute babies.

This family is no exception, meet the Anderson family. Laine Anderson is a wedding photographer in the Dallas area who I have had the pleasure shooting with as a second shooter. She has been so gracious with help and information as I am getting my own business off the ground. We all met up at the Dallas Arboretum a few weeks back and spent the morning walking around a few places and just capturing them playing with their beautiful baby girl Piper. Piper was in good spirits that morning which makes shooting a breeze!

I got to spend an evening with the Millen family at their home a few weeks ago. One of the things I enjoy most about spending time with a family is getting to know a little about them and capturing their personalities through a lens. It is fun stuff. Kennedy is their little girl and she was just adorable during the session, she was ready to show me her whole house, her new little brother Gavin and show me her playhouse in her backyard. That is a picture taken from John and Shawndra Onwuchekwa’s wedding taken a year ago. John and Shawndra ’s wedding was my 3rd one to ever shoot, back when I was still learning all the ropes (not that I have learned all of them, always room to grow!) for weddings. I was so grateful for them trusting me to capture their day even when they didn’t even know me! What a blessing.

Now one year later they contacted me again to take some pictures for their one year anniversary! I was blown away and thankful they would have me back to take more pictures. John and Shawndra are truly a delight to work with, they are probably the easiest couple I have worked with when shooting. They are laid-back, in love, and ready to have some fun with pictures.

Thank ya’ll so much for having me take your pictures again, and I hope to see you again for your 2 year anniversary! Enjoy the pictures!

It has been quite a long time since I have had the opportunity to shoot another high school senior session. I love getting to hang out, meet new people, get to know them, and find out how to incoporate all of that into their session so their personality shines through. Ally and her parents were awesome, and we got to have some fun walking around the square in Denton and we go to do some shooting in a loft on the Square and hang out on the rooftop for some pictures thanks to my friend Stormy Shippy! For this shoot Ally let me know that she is a dancer and that she is a Christian and wanted that to show through somehow in her pictures. So we got everything she brought along and I worked everything in throughout the shoot and tried to keep everything as natural as possible, and not let anything turn out ‘cheesy’. These are some of my favorite images from the session. Enjoy!

This is Ron. Ron is an art teacher. Just like me. Ron wanted some pictures for himself just because so we got together a few weeks ago in Mesquite and had a mini-session. We found some great walls and textures in the small area we were in and we even got to see one of Ron’s old students who just happened to be hanging around where we were shooting, ha.
