I had the pleasure of shooting a basketball tournament that was hosted by 2 churches, The Village Church and Cornerstone Baptist. The tournament was hosted at the Cornerstone Baptist church campus and invited all the neighborhood youth to come out and play. It was a perfect day for the tournament and it was great to see all the people that came out to support and make the tournament happen. There was basketball, games, face painting, a cheer routine, and former Dallas Maverick Derek Harper dropped by to show his support. I love getting to see churches reaching out to their communities and the youth, I am happy I got to take part in my own small way.

It is finally time to share my new logo with everyone! I am very excited about this logo and I spent a month working with my graphic designer getting this just right! We finally got something we were both happy with and here it is…

My logo is getting really close to being done. I am so excited to see how it will turn out! As soon as it is done I will definitely be sharing it with everyone and also tagging my new images on my blog. The rest of my design work is hinging on the direction of my logo, so once that is done you can expect to see lots of things including: business cards, catalogs, promotional material, new blog-site, client access site. So you can see why I am excited about this logo being done! Lots of changes will be happening and I can’t wait to slowly reveal each one as it happens. Stay tuned!

Just wanted to announce to the public that I will be launching my 2009 prices for wedding and portrait sessions on April 1, 2009.

People who would like to save some money and get some great deals should book sessions now while I am still using my 2008 pricing!

I am currently booking family, kid, maternity, and newborn sessions for the month of April. If you or someone you know is hoping to have some done just fill out my contact form and I will get back with you. Limited spots are available so it will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Make that GREAT/EXCITING/AMAZING/SPECTACULAR things are coming. Words can’t express how excited and anxious I am for all the things coming in the coming months. I am working with some great people that are helping me bring to life all the ideas that have been floating around in my head lately. Let me see if I can explain what kind of things are going on behind the scenes.

1) I am working with Carter Martin who is helping me design a new logo/identity for myself. I wanted to kick it up a notch and this great guy is one who can definitely do it! Once I get that squared away I can start getting business cards designed and all that other good marketing stuff going. So that is exciting.

2) I have been planning a new blog-site, yep you read that right I am going to be making a blog and a website rolled into one! I have always enjoyed planning out websites as a hobby (weird/nerdy hobby I know!) because I used to want to be a web designer, but I lost that itch awhile back but still enjoyed the planning stages, so I needed to team up with someone that would help me design and bring to life all the ideas I have in my head. Joell for Image Garden Designs has stepped in and she is currently helping me develop my blog-site. It is going to be such a cool site once it is up and running, I can’t wait to show everyone!

3) On top of the blog-site, Joell is also creating me a custom client services site to go along with my blog-site. What is a client services site you may ask? Well it is going to be a place for my clients to log in and view my current pricing for weddings and portrait sessions. They will be able to view info like what to wear, my style of shooting, details on sessions, etc. Clients will also be able to log into their specific gallery to view proofs and their custom gallery to make purchases online.

4) Finally, I am now subscribed to Tave Studio which is a brilliant photo business management online software. It is going to make managing everything 1,000 time easier for me. On top of making my life easier it is also going to make life for my clients much easier. Tave Studio also comes with client side access where wedding clients will be able to log into their account view their balance, sign an electronic contract, and make payments toward their balance with credit cards. Yep, I am moving towards being able to accept credit cards! All in due time my friends, all in due time. I will be giving a small review of Tave Studio soon for all you photographers to check out.
