I got to spend some time with my friends Charlie and Ginni a few weeks ago for one of my first real ‘Just Because’ sessions. What is a Just Because session you may ask? Well it is a session where people come to me for pictures just because they want some pictures! Charlie and Ginni both go to the same church as my wife Jessica and I in good ol’ Forney,Tx. We also used to be in the same small group bible study before we had to switch groups, it was a sad day but we still hang out and talk often. They are just one great example of how God has blessed Jessica and I since we have been here in Mesquite, simply being able to make new friends who we love! I took my wife outside of our apartment building yesterday to be my model for me while I play with a 45mm tilt/shift lens that I rented for a bridal shoot I had today. I had never used one before and I no clue what I was doing with it, so I just wanted to have some time before the shoot to play around. My wife Jessica was wonderful to always be my model when I need to practice, even when she has had a long day herself and is tired. Thank you babe! Enjoy the pictures. Hopefully I did these okay, like I said it was my first time.

It is not very often that I get to share with my blog readers more about my life, I think I am slowly going to start changing that over time. I fear I will bore people or that many just don’t care, but regardless of what some may think I find it important to share my life so others may see what I find important.

Here is one person who is very important to me and who I love very much, my wife Jessica. She is probably one of the funniest people I know, she cracks me up like nobody else will ever be able to do. We are both introverts and keep our personalities hidden to people we don’t know but once you get us out of our shell we are pretty funny, okay well maybe she is just the funny one I just try really hard.

These pictures were taken while we were out hanging with our friend Leigh in the previous post. I decided to make a little collage of some of the pictures that just crack me up. I think these pictures will give those of you who don’t know my wife a tiny glance into her personality that you may not know exists. She also took very beautiful pictures but I haven’t had time to get to those yet, but I’ll be showing you some of those as well very soon. Enjoy!

I finally got around to buying a Westcott 28×28″ Softbox and wanted to test it out. My wife Jessica and I have a great friend named Leigh and she has been dying to hang out with us before she moves to Massachusetts next month. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to have a fun hang out time of pictures before eating some dinner, so we went out and just shot around the square in Carrollton. Leigh is awesome and very good in front of the camera, some could say she is “loveleigh” (see what I did there?). Jessica was also a model for me while I tested out the softbox but she definitely deserves her own post, because….well….you’ll just have to wait and see. This was my first attempt at using what I learned at the One Light Workshop and I had a good time with the softbox, it is very subtle in my first 4 pictures, I’ll start getting more dramatic once I get the hang of it. The last picture was just a backlit portrait during sunset. Enjoy!
