I had the pleasure of spending my 3rd session with the Mclain family and take more pictures of baby Ella. I cannot believe how much she has grown over these past few months and how different she looks!

Here is Ella in the belly of her mom.

…and here is Ella during our second session together…

Now take a look at her! Enjoy the pictures!

Time to share some more pictures with everyone! Trust me the problem is not having anything to post, it is more like having so much to edit that I don’t have time to post! So keep checking back a couple times a week because I promise I have plenty to share.

This shoot marks the first time that I got to use my Canon 5d, yep I upgraded to a semi-professional camera, time to step away from the consumer 30d camera and to bigger and better things. Now all I gotta do is save up for the 5d markii! I was so excited to use my new camera for this shoot and had everything ready to go and packed away, got in my car and drove out to the square in Forney, TX, I parked and got my case out and started getting my camera out and my lenses and what did I quickly realize? I forgot ALL of my memory cards! Oh my, was I not happy about forgetting something so simple and important. So I had to book it down the street to CVS and luckily they had ONE 2gb CF card and it was on sale. So I got lucky and didn’t have to drive all the way back home. Other than that little incident, getting to use the 5d was awesome! I love the look of all my images straight out of the camera. But I won’t bore everyone with those details, all you photographers know what I am talking about though! It is a whole new world.

This family is actually more of MY family. Andrea is the sister of Monica who I did family pictures for back in the summer. I love love love Andrea and Branden and of course Mikayla and Nyla, I feel so blessed to have family like this. We had a good time in the square in Forney, TX and we just walked around and found some cool little spots to shoot. Overall this was some good times! Enjoy the pictures.

the sumlin family

08-27-08

The week before I left on my New York and Canada trip I had 2 family sessions, an engagement session, bridal session, and a wedding to shoot. Once I came back from my vacation I had a ton of pictures waiting for me to edit, along with all the shoots I have been shooting since I have been back. So you can imagine just how much editing I have to do right now, on top of doing all my teaching responsibilites after starting back last week. I am slowly making my way through everything, and I have been enjoying the pictures from my sessions.

This post is dedicated to the wonderful Sumlin family! Shea, Tiffany, Emma, Sara, and Abigail were my models while Shannon Sewell was in town giving me a mentoring session. They were fabulous and they all had a great time, even after one of the girls threw up over one of her outfits right before we started the session! Shea Sumlin is actually a very special person to me, he is the college pastor of the church Jessica and I attended while we were in Denton and he was the one who married us! Shea is a great friend, pastor, and father; he was one of the first people I remember meeting when I went to college before he came the college pastor of our church. It was an honor to have him marry Jessica and I and I was so happy that him and his beautiful family were willing to come to Dallas and spend some time getting their pictures taken. I mainly stayed behind the scenes on this shoot because I wanted to see Shannon do her thing, but I had my camera and used it every once awhile. Here are some of my favorite shots that I took during our time together. Thank you Shea for everything!

troy, jennifer, truett : family

07-15-08

I had the privilege of shooting a family session with Jennifer, Troy, and Truett Jones on Tuesday at their home. We all go to the same church and Jennifer and Troy are part of my small group, I knew once I saw their beautiful home and awesome baby boy Truett I would have to hint that I wanted the chance to shoot some family portraits with them. My plan worked! Ha.

EDIT: I have picked out some of my favorites from their session and now I can share the rest of them with you. Enjoy!

Harisis : family

Today I get to share a family session with you, but not just any family session, MY family. I have been incredibly blessed with probably the best family on earth.  Most of us live all in the same area, so we see each other anytime there is anything worth celebrating. Or when we have a volleyball game to play together! I love it.

This is a family session with my cousin Monica and her husband Mark. This is such a loving a fun family whom I LOVE to spend time with. They each brought some kids of their own into the marriage and they have had 2 beautiful kids together. The family consists of Mark, Monica, Greg (11), Garrett (10), Christian (10), Nysa (4), and Xander (1 1/2). They also have a little chihuahua named Cinderella, and I’ll just let you all guess who got to name her.

We all had a fun time at a park close to their house. It was great getting to just play around and capture each of their personalities on camera. It was hard to pick some of my favorites but here they are….enjoy!
