Just when you thought I was finished taking engagement shots…I come and surprise you with more! These are the last of my engagement shots that I took from the weddings that I have booked this summer. Take some time to meet Emily and Chris, we all know each other from Denton Bible Church, Emily has been an acquaintance of mine ever since she was roommates with a good friend of mine. It was such a pleasure getting to know Emily and Chris better during our time together at this session, they are such a fun and cute couple which will be obvious to see in their pictures below. We all seemed to have a similar sense of humor which made for a fun session and good conversations. We spent their engagement session in downtown Ft.Worth, which is such a beautiful place, much more different than downtown Dallas haha! The session started at the First Christian Church in Ft.Worth where Chris and Emily will be married, we then proceeded to walk along the streets and find some fun places to shoot. Meet my friend Korey and his fiance Kelly. I was roommates with Korey for a year while I was living in Denton. He is an amazing illustrator of children’s books, his characters are very fun and full of imagination. He is also one of the silliest guys I know. I was honored (I know I know I always say it) when they asked me to be their photographer. We spent some time in downtown McKinney for this shoot and we had a good time. I think you can see much of their personality in these pictures. Enjoy!

I took some pictures with Korey and Kelly eating some cupcakes, and these aren’t just random cupcakes, they actually have a cute story and special meaning to the both of them. Since I am not the most elegant writer I am going to allow Kelly to give you the story:

“Once upon a time in a town far, far away - called Denton - lived a guy with a huge sweet tooth. Every week he would visit Target for his weekly grocery purchases. One day the sight of the cupcakes in the bakery section caught his eye. “Mmmm…” he said to himself. “I just have to take these home.” Not too long afterwards he met a girl online who he started talking to on a regular basis. Every day she would hear about these cupcakes and how great they were. When it came time for the couple to meet, he thought he would surprise her with one of these fabulous Target cupcakes at the end of their date. Little did he know that she had tasted some awesome cupcakes at a local bakery in McKinney. These cupcakes were the “bomb” because they were huge, were piled high with icing and had a fabulous cream filling. Upon her sister’s suggestion she decided to surprise him with one of these cupcakes at the end of the date since he had such an affinity for them. Towards the end of the date when the couple decided to surprise each other with the cupcakes, lo and behold, they each handed the other person a cupcake! She was so touched that he would share his cupcakes that he’d been hoarding for the past couple of weeks and he was so amazed that she was so thoughtful to bring him a cupcake knowing that he liked them so much. And what else is to be said except that it was love at first bite. When this cupcake lover decided to pop the question of course he included one of these fabulous cupcakes from Target. The ring was actually sitting inside of a rose petal that was on top of the cupcake. What a busy time of editing I am having these days. Let me tell you that it is tough only have 15 hours or so a week to edit photos! But I am making through the trenches right now, it will be much more easier once I finish out the school year in June.

Meet Kate and Ryan, they live in Denton, TX and we went to church together while I was in college at UNT. Kate is good friends with my beautiful wife Jessica. We spent some time a couple of weeks ago shooting in the Square in Denton. It was a great day full of shade so we walked around and had some fun being ourselves. Kate and Ryan also stopped by Beth Marie’s to get some ice cream together, so it made for a fun engagement session. Meet my friend Kothe (Cody) and his fiance Calie. Kothe is as close as a brother that you can get without actually being brothers. We have been friends since high school and lived together during our senior year of high school. Good and bad times were had by all, it was a time I will never forget. But now let us fast forward back to the present. Kothe asked me to be the photographer for his wedding and of course I couldn’t say no! Kothe and Calie also have a beautiful baby girl named Cadence, she wasn’t here for our engagement session but I’ll be sure to get pictures of her at the wedding. Enjoy the pictures!

Before I start posting I justed wanted to say that God is good. Plain and simple. He has done nothing but bless me on this journey of photography. This is such an extremely busy time for me right now and it is getting hard to balance everything but it is only because God has done nothing but answer prayers. I am booked for the summer for weddings because all my friends from college have hired ME to capture their day, I say it over and over again but it is such an honor to have that privilege and trust given to me. My hope and prayer is that I keep growing, learning, and going beyond the expectations of all my friends.

With all that said let us meet Chris and Sarah. I have known each of them since my freshmen and sophomore year of college. I have known Sarah through mutual friends and Chris has been in bible studies with me and we served together in the Tech team of our College ministry. It is so great to see them both together now.

Because I have such a limited and hectic schedule I do not always get to shoot when I really want. This is my first shoot where I actually had the chance to shoot during sunset. The lighting during this time is so gorgeous! The color that it makes against skin is awesome. We also shot somewhere other than downtown or a tiny square, we shot around White Rock Lake in Dallas, so it was a nice change. I was feeling very experimental and tried many new things out with these photos. I had a good time going through them all. Enjoy!
